What Is A Merit Aid Scholarship?
Merit aid scholarships can help to decrease the cost of paying for college. They help close the gap between the cost of tuition and need-based financial aid. Merit aid is a type of financial aid that does not take into account the student’s financial needs, but instead is awarded based on academic accomplishment.
Merit aid might cover a student's entire tuition or be a one-time award of a few hundred dollars given by any number of local, state or national organizations that provide scholarships to students.
